Grant Thornton UK LLP is part of a global network of independent audit, tax and advisory firms. We are looking for an Assistant Manager within our Indirect Tax team.

Responsibilities

  • Join a friendly, diverse team with a leading presence in Indirect Tax and VAT.
  • Support the scoping, delivery and billing of client work and ensure compliance with the firm’s risk management processes.
  • Guide more junior staff in researching and producing work that meets the firm’s commitment to quality, while supporting Directors and Partners.
  • Provide technical advice on a range of Indirect Tax matters, supporting decisions with appropriate knowledge of legislation, case law and technical analysis.
  • Produce technical work requiring minimal review and convey key points to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum criteria: experience of UK Indirect/VAT Taxes, perhaps from an advisory or in‑house environment; specific tax qualification such as CTA or ATT.
  • Experience working with a large and varied portfolio of UK indirect/VAT tax clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to forge long‑standing business relationships.
  • Comfort working as part of a mixed discipline team, taking the lead and driving projects to their conclusion.
  • Experience advising on complex technical indirect tax matters and applying current UK tax law.
