Contracting Solicitor

Flexible on any GTUK location, hybrid working

Our Office of the General Counsel advises on a wide variety of risk issues that arise in the delivery of professional services across assurance, tax, and advisory areas.

A look into the role

We are recruiting a commercial contracts lawyer for our in-house legal team. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Negotiating contracts with clients, such as MSAs and public-sector frameworks, and advising on contracts with sub-contractors, suppliers, and others.
  2. Improving our standard terms of business based on negotiation experiences and contractual issues encountered.
  3. Handling various commercial contracting issues, including local-country adoption contracts, agreements with international member-firms, data-sharing, secondment, software supply contracts, and interpreting contractual provisions.
  4. Providing legal input into other contracting situations, managing risks, and ensuring compliance.
  5. Advising on collaboration and referral agreements.
  6. Collaborating with the Office of the General Counsel and risk-management team to advise colleagues and protect the firm’s interests.

Knowing you’re right for us

The minimum criteria include being a qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in:

  1. Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  2. Professional liability law knowledge.
  3. Understanding of professional services contracting and risk issues.
  4. A pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
  5. Self-motivation and managing conflicting demands.
  6. Excellent communication skills, including drafting contractual terms.
