Overview

In this role you will lead proactive tax risk management for clients, strengthening governance and controls within tax operations. You will work across UK tax regimes, deliver workshops, and manage client portfolios while driving growth for the Tax Controversy and Risk team. You’ll collaborate with Partners and Directors to generate new opportunities and mentor junior colleagues. Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of client work and manage delivery end-to-end
  • Work across different tax areas with varied clients and projects
  • Guide clients through UK tax regimes by developing controls and risk-informed processes
  • Deliver client workshops and training on tax risk management topics
  • Build and manage a client portfolio including Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offence regimes
  • Support on proposals and pitches to secure new business
  • Support Partners and Directors with business plans and opportunity generation
  • Build internal and external networks to create fee opportunities
  • Deliver cross-service training to raise awareness of Tax Risk Management across the firm
  • Manage, mentor and develop junior team members and contribute to personal development
  • Act with integrity in line with organisational values

Key requirements

  • ATT or CTA or equivalent level of experience
  • Experience managing a varied client portfolio
  • Demonstrable experience in tax or tax risk management
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation and governance landscape
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; translating complex tax detail for non-experts
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to identify risk areas, perform effective reviews, and know when to escalate
