Overview
In this Director role within Grant Thornton’s Quality Audit team, you will lead and shape high-quality audits, ensuring rigorous firm-wide standards and integrity. You’ll collaborate with partners, teams and review partners to embed quality, coach others, and drive improvements. You’ll manage hot reviews, challenge procedures, and contribute to training and inspections. Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver high-quality audits and conduct hot reviews with partnership and engagement quality review partners
- Challenge audit procedures and documentation while coaching partners and teams to implement improvements
- Identify issues requiring firm-wide action and drive ad hoc quality improvement projects
- Support audit standards through training and assistance during FRC inspections and with the legal team
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups to embed quality within the firm’s culture and service delivery
Key requirements
- Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CA or ACCA)
- Experience in listed audits, audit quality control and/or audit inspection
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize large information, focusing on quality
- Digital and IT capability, including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; comfortable with AI-enabled tools
- High motivation for audit quality and willingness to work flexibly in team and independent settings
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to influence at senior levels within the firm
- Strong written and oral communication skills
