We are seeking an experienced Tax Candidate within our rapidly growing Tax department to assist in the development of the Employers Solutions team. The ES team has been a focus for development and growth within the wider all Ireland firm and this role includes all aspects of employment tax compliance, design and implementation of equity reward plans, advise on cross border compliance obligations and assistance with HMRC disclosures and investigations for all business types (from large corporates to owner managed and private equity backed businesses).

Strong organisational skills are essential to ensure that compliance obligations are delivered on budget and on a timely basis. Strong communication skills are also required to build rapport with clients and colleagues.

You will be responsible for assisting the manager with the following:

  • PAYE compliance processes
  • Employee expenses and Benefit-In-Kind tax treatment and policy reviews
  • P11D preparation and other year-end reporting (to include Employment Related Securities returns, PAYE Settlement Agreements, STBV reporting etc)
  • Off-payroll working, including employment status, IR35/intermediary legislation, agency workers, umbrella companies etc
  • Construction Industry Scheme
  • Termination payments
  • Salary sacrifice arrangements and optional remuneration legislation
  • National Minimum Wage regulations
  • Employment tax risk assessments / health checks
  • HMRC disclosures
  • HMRC employer compliance reviews
  • Cross border working and internationally mobile employees (to include A1 applications, Appendix 5, etc)
  • Design and implementation of equity reward / share option plans (e.g. EMI schemes, CSOP plans, growth shares, etc)
  • Sell-side and buy-side tax Due Diligence reports

Main responsibilities:

  • Build a rapport with the individual client and developing a clear and detailed understanding of the relevant compliance obligations
  • Build relationships with the employer solutions team in the firms Irish and UK offices
  • Meet client demands, keeping them up to date with progress and engenders trust and respect
  • Facilitate employment tax compliance requests for clients (P11D’s PSA’s, share scheme reporting, etc.)
  • Assist with writing high quality tax reports, professionally presented documents, with the assistance of managers
  • A sound awareness and adherence to the firm's risk management processes and procedures
  • Ensure bills are raised and costs are collected on a timely basis and manage work in progress to ensure recoverability targets can be met
  • Work effectively with all members of the team, building the confidence and respect of peers and subordinates
  • Demonstrate a clear appetite for self-development through the appraisal and personal development plan processes, reviewing work afterward for learning points
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the full range of the firm's products, services and capabilities and seeks to participate in business development activities and contributes to sales pitches, for own team as well as the wider firm

Skills and attributes:

  • ATT or part CTA qualified
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in a tax department of a larger firm
  • Strong technical knowledge capable of working on your own initiative
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and the team
