The Office of the General Counsel provides strategic legal advice and support across the firm, partnering with leadership and business teams to manage legal risk, ensure regulatory compliance and facilitate the firm's commercial objectives. The team handles a broad range of legal matters, including corporate governance and partner arrangements through to transactional support, and plays a key role in safeguarding the firm's interests.

As an In House Corporate Lawyer within the Office of the General Counsel, you will:

  • Lead on all legal aspects of partner securities, including equity and capital arrangements for joining and departing partners, ensuring compliance with the firm's constitutional documents and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Draft, review and maintain the firm's constitutional and governance documents, advising stakeholders on interpretation and proposed amendments.
  • Provide legal support on governance matters, including advising the firm's leadership on decision-making frameworks, regulatory obligations and best practice.
  • Support the wider legal team on corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, disposals and strategic investments, managing workstreams with minimal supervision.
  • Act as a trusted legal adviser to internal stakeholders across the business, delivering pragmatic, commercially focused legal guidance on a range of corporate matters.

Joining us as an In House Corporate Lawyer, the minimum criteria you’ll need:

  • A current practising certificate as a qualified solicitor (England and Wales) with demonstrable post‑qualification experience in corporate law.
  • The ability to work with a high degree of operational independence.
  • An agile and adaptable approach, with the enthusiasm and drive to manage a varied and evolving workload in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate, high‑quality legal documentation and advice.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build effective working relationships with senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams.

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way:

  • Experience of advising on LLP structures, including equity arrangements, capital contributions and partner admissions and retirements.
  • Previous experience working within or advising professional services firms on corporate and governance matters.
  • Experience of advising private‑equity backed businesses.
  • Experience advising on corporate transactions and related matters.
