Grant Thornton’s Restructuring Team supports companies and their stakeholders to navigate periods of stress and distress by delivering thoughtful, innovative and pragmatic restructuring solutions. As part of an international network, we work with colleagues across the globe to provide access to expertise across our full-service practice, supporting lenders, investors and management teams with challenging situations arising from financial and/or operational issues. Our capabilities include turnaround services, restructuring solutions, options assessment and contingency planning, independent business reviews, formal insolvency appointments, and acting as expert witness.
Our clients range from international groups to mid-market organisations across sectors including real estate, construction, healthcare, energy and natural resources, industrials, manufacturing and automotive and consumer finance. The role is based in London with opportunities to work across the UK and globally, supported to develop your career. Responsibilities
- Begin to understand and demonstrate the market and current developments (both work givers and competitors).
- Provide recommendations to ongoing negotiations and sales pitches.
- Contribute to internal and external presentations for both the department and the firm.
- Build and nurture your own network both internally and external to the firm.
- Take part in internal and external events, training, marketing and assignment related subjects to promote recovery services.
- Apply technical knowledge appropriately in the context of individual clients with speed and accuracy in resolving client problems.
- Make quick, clear and unequivocal recommendations to managers about client issues and generate a range of options and narrow these down appropriately.
- Balance the need for information and data with the client’s requirement for quick decisions and recommendations.
- Manage junior staff on assignments, including coaching, addressing performance issues promptly, and ensuring regular feedback and development opportunities.
Qualifications
Minimum criteria you’ll need:
- You must be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA).
- Good level of proficiency in using MS Excel and PowerPoint.
