Our Office of the General Counsel (“OGC”) advises on a wide variety of risk issues that arise in the delivery of professional services across the areas of assurance, tax and advisory in which the firm operates. A look into the role:
- Be a key contact for the Firm’s service lines in respect of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs);
- Review, draft, amend and negotiate a range of legal documents such as NDAs, hold harmless letters, release and reliance letters;
- Work with the wider OGC team to provide an efficient and high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders;
- Assist our client-facing teams in overcoming legal challenges and advise and guide them in relation to the Firm’s policies and processes;
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries or briefing notes on specific topics as required;
- Assist with the development and administration of legal technology and AI platforms;
- Support in the management and development of other junior Paralegals in the team;
- Support other team members and, in time, take supervisory and management responsibility for NDAs.
Knowing you’re right for us:
- Law degree or equivalent qualification, or Paralegal/Legal Assistant qualification. Completion of the LPC or SQE1 is desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal at a top law firm and/or in-house corporate level legal department.
- Demonstrable experience of reviewing and negotiating legal documents (in particular NDAs) and liaising with clients to resolve legal and commercial issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), document management systems, DocuSign and contract databases.
- Comfortable working independently on routine matters while collaborating closely with legal counsel on more complex issues.
- A positive, proactive attitude and excellent attention to detail and take pride in consistently delivering a high-quality output.
- An ability to communicate effectively with all members of our diverse team and the wider firm.
