- Senior Engineer – Generative AI Platform
Based in the North of England, this hands‑on individual contributor role focuses on building and operating solutions within Grant Thornton's Gen AI platform to deliver measurable value to clients.
Responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end delivery, translating business needs into technical design and building production‑ready solutions.
- Develop and maintain backend services, API integrations, MCP server builds and data connections.
- Apply engineering judgment to decide when to solve natively within the platform versus bespoke external engineering.
- Design architecture, data flow and integrations, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Use AI tooling to accelerate coding and operationalise solutions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience owning delivery in a team‑based model, with a track record of shipping production software.
- Strong backend and integration engineering skills using Python or C# . NET.
- Judgement in choosing native platform solutions versus custom engineering.
- Familiarity with Azure and Microsoft 365; experience with LLM integration patterns, MCP tooling and AI‑enabled development environments is an advantage.
- Comfortable using Gen AI tools such as Copilot, Claude or Chat GPT.
