About the Team: Within Grant Thornton's Incentives group, the Research & Development ('R&D') Tax credit and grant services team brings together tax professionals and engineering / scientific experts who support a broad spectrum of prominent clients. The team's reputation continues to grow, partnering with forward-thinking organisations engaged in R&D activities in Ireland, as well as those planning future investments in innovation.
Role Overview: This position is ideal for a tax or accounting graduate with experience in the R&D tax credit and grant incentives space who is eager to join Grant Thornton's expanding R&D Incentives practice. We are seeking an assistant manager with experience in the R&D tax credit and grant incentives space. The role offers the chance to play a key part in the development and success of our business.
Key Duties:
- Collaborate directly with clients from various industries, using your expertise to assess the eligibility of R&D expenditure for tax relief under Irish legislation and Revenue guidance.
- Take the lead on client engagements, review expenditure items, and identify qualifying R&D costs.
- Prepare and review financial submissions to Irish Revenue and funding bodies, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
- Oversee multiple client engagements and review outputs from colleagues.
- Work across a diverse client portfolio, ensuring that quality standards and risk controls are consistently maintained.
Candidate Profile:
- Tax or account qualified or experienced.
- 3+ years post-qualification experience in R&D tax credits or incentives, gained within a professional services or advisory setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead client engagements, manage stakeholder relationships, and deliver high-quality results within tight timeframes.
- Outstanding technical ability and comfortable liaising with senior financial / tax stakeholders.
