We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager or Manager to join our expanding national Employment Tax team with opportunities for growth. The role is based in Greater London, Milton Keynes or Reading and offers full‑time or flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Advise our diverse client base on a range of employment tax issues including PAYE, NIC, benefits, expenses and establishing employment status (including IR35).
- Help employers gain cost savings through the implementation of effective pay and benefit reward structures.
- Manage Employment Tax compliance and mitigate internal and external risks, including year‑end reporting and risks such as NMW and holiday pay.
- Assist with Employment Tax reviews as part of due diligence, health checks, SAOs or standalone assessments.
- Play an integral role in the Employment Tax and wider Employer Solutions group, working on rewarding projects across multiple clients.
- Build the reputation of the Employment Tax team and Grant Thornton through quality delivery.
Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent tax qualification.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead projects.
- At least 3 years’ experience in Employment Tax.
- Current knowledge of UK tax legislation and Employment Tax themes such as PAYE, NIC, IR35.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with sound judgement.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and able to develop both personally and in a team environment.
- Comfortable using technology to drive efficiency.
