Digital Audit School Leaver Programme (Autumn 2026) – Sheffield at Grant Thornton UK

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on coding, developing and improving audit software solutions that will be used across various projects, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with the latest auditing standards.
  • Engage with emerging technologies such as data analytics, AI, and machine learning to create dynamic audit solutions.
  • Get hands-on early responsibility, taking ownership of coding tasks that contribute to larger audit projects, delivering impactful results.
  • Audit team facing experience collaborating to provide clients with insightful data analysis and software-driven audit results.
  • Develop a diverse skill set, gain exposure to different audit areas, working closely with specialists in data, risk, and financial reporting.
  • Use data and technology to spot trends, identify anomalies, and support your findings.
  • Keep learning and growing by staying up to date with regulations, developing your professional judgement, and building relationships with mentors and experts across the firm.
  • Study with support, with dedicated time to study and a team behind you as you work towards a professional qualification. We have various study options available on this programme:
    1. ICAEW ACA Qualification: Start with the CFAB (Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business) for the first 2 years, then progress to the full ACA qualification over the next 2.5 years.
    2. Digital & Technology Solutions Apprenticeship (Level 6): 3 to 4.5 years, focused on digital and tech skills.
    3. Level 4 Apprenticeship (18-24 months): A shorter, more focused route – choose between: Data Analyst, Applied Digital Technology (Data Analytics), or a similar relevant programme.
    4. Other Qualifications: We\’re open to exploring alternative qualifications or apprenticeships, as long as they\’re relevant to the role.

You\’ll also be provided with study leave in the run up to your exams. You\’ll need to be focused, committed, and organise your time well to balance all the requirements of being a trainee.
