Every day our teams help people in businesses and communities to do what is right and achieve their goals.
Our CFO solutions team were established to help our clients overcome significant challenges, where there could be a potential knowledge/skillset gap or lack of resource. They work directly with Finance teams to help them deliver business critical projects. These can range from more simple issues e.g. year end accounting to working with firms going through more complex issues e.g. IPOs and M&A. The CFO solutions team sits within our Advisory (Deals & Business Consulting) division and work closely with a range of clients across different industry sectors. If you are looking to work on an exciting range of projects, then this could be the team for you.
For internal employees who are interested in exploring this role we are happy to consider the option of a 12+ month secondment or a permanent opportunity. Location
We are looking for this candidate to work with our teams across the UK and we are flexible on office base. The successful candidate will work on a hybrid model.
A look into the role
If you enjoy working on a wide-reaching range of projects that will help businesses and communities flourish, you’ll fit right in.
Specifically, you will become responsible for the end to end project management of several client projects. You will be expected to undertake the relationship management for these clients and projects whilst supporting Partners and Directors with business development opportunities to support future growth and revenue. You will support the team by building upon the existing client base through exceptional relationship management, growing your internal/external network and elevating your personal brand.
This includes:
- Building long term relationships with clients and targets by holding periodic calls with them from introduction through to engagement completions
- Driving a pipeline of opportunities through your own internal and external network
- Working with the rest of the CFO solutions team to deliver our growth strategy by getting involved in our growth initiative working groups and actively targeting entities on our focus list
- Engaging with internal BD initiatives such as joining sector specific calls with members from other Grant Thornton teams and participating in other internal events/calls to raise the profile of CFO solutions.
- Regular client check-ins to check how our secondees are performing and to develop the client relationship, enabling you to spot any possible further opportunities for CFO solutions or other Grant Thornton teams
- Secondee check-ins to check on their workload & wellbeing, help with any issues and follow up
- Managing additional resource for ongoing client engagements should they require it
- Ensuring revenue and costs forecasts are always up to date
- Providing regular delivery updates to the rest of the Clients & Markets team
- Reviewing resource options and discussing the role with candidates to identify who would be the best fit
Knowing you’re right for us
Joining us as an Associate Director, the minimum criteria you will need is;
- Demonstrable experience in helping to build revenue and growth through establishing solid business relationships
- Experience of building your personal brand and network to support business growth
- Excellent project management experience working across many priorities concurrently
- Strong knowledge of finance functions
- Demonstrable experience in growing client relationships
It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way;
- Ideally you will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/equivalent) and be passionate about supporting, advising and helping businesses achieve their potential.
- Ideally you will have gained your experience in a practice environment e.g. External Audit, however it would be beneficial if you also have some industry experience.
- Have worked in a revenue generating or fee earning role.
