Grant Thornton’s Agile Talent Community is a network of contract professionals, giving you the opportunity to work with our clients alongside Grant Thornton teams on a project-by-project basis whilst being supported by our dedicated Agile Talent team.

Joining us in Financial Services Business Risk Services (FS BRS), we help and support clients achieve their strategic goals by guiding them through new legislation changes and helping to navigate accounting, regulatory, technology and operating model change. Our teams help clients remain agile and adapt to these changes and stay ahead of the competition.

Grant Thornton’s FS BRS team provides market-leading risk, control and governance services to the financial services industry, working with clients from the insurance, banking and investment management industries and beyond. Our key offerings are internal audit (outsource and co-source), finance and risk management, compliance and technology.

As an Interim BCBS 239 Data SME, you will have the freedom to work on projects that you choose, whether full or part-time within FS BRS and support our clients and internal teams on short to medium-term assignments.

Skills we are looking for:

  • Strong understanding of BCBS 239 principles and compliance requirements gained within banking sector or a similar consultancy.
  • Expertise in Critical Data Element (CDE) identification and documentation.
  • Ability to work with technical system owners to trace data flows from source to report.
  • Hands-on experience with data management and lineage tools e.g. Collibra.
  • Familiarity with metadata repositories and data cataloguing.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
  • Familiarity with risk data aggregation and reporting (RDAR) frameworks.
  • Proficiency in SQL and understanding of data models and ETL processes.
  • Ability to be onsite in Glasgow 3 days a week.
