The National Short-Term Hire Co-Ordinator plays an important role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the national short-term hire fleet. This dynamic position is responsible for maximising asset availability, proactively generating new hire opportunities, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth service delivery. By working closely with sales teams, transport, and depot staff, the role not only enhances operational efficiency but also drives revenue growth and profitability. PERSON SPECIFICATION:
·Ability to manage and optimise asset availability and logistics across a national fleet
·Strong understanding of the hire market with ability to identify revenue-generating opportunities

Qualifications & Experience
·Significant experience in a similar role within the rental, logistics, or equipment hire industry (fork truck experience advantageous).
·A good understanding of applicable industry guidelines and best practices

·Confident in handling enquiries, bookings and concerns professionally
CORE ACTIVITIES:
Proactive Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimise the national short-term hire fleet, including asset visibility and availability via the agreed processes.
- Identify business opportunities by contacting existing, lapsed, and potential customers to increase fleet utilisation and drive new revenue.
- Support marketing efforts through targeted customer engagement and follow-ups from campaigns and promotional activity.
- Develop and enhance relationships with the direct sales team, business development, and management to promote collaboration and ensure strategic alignment
- Coordinate with depots to ensure the short term hire fleet is ready and appropriately deployed.
- Follow up all hire quotations within the agreed timescales to ensure optimised conversion and revenue generation.
Reactive Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, bookings, and concerns, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Process hire contracts accurately and in line with agreed terms and company procedures.
- Coordinate timely and efficient transport logistics, using both internal fleet and third-party providers with pre-agreed rates.
- Work with our depots to ensure all hire equipment meets standardised preparation guidelines before dispatch.
- Source and negotiate costs for cross-hire assets when equipment is not available within our fleet, ensuring timely fulfilment and cost-effectiveness.
- Support the local depots in the timely completion of all relevant paperwork associated with returning assets.
