Our client specialises in assisting businesses in utilising various funding options, including Business Finance and R&D Tax Credits. These government incentives allow companies to claim back on their Research and Development spending. Our focus is on ensuring our clients maximise their claim eligibility and recover some costs, enabling them to reinvest back into their business. Our client works closely with businesses to understand their challenges, providing tailored advice and offering the best funding solutions. Our client is experiencing significant growth and has successfully secured our clients Β£5 million in funding via R&D Tax Credits in Q1 alone.
The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a field-based Business Development Manager (Business Funding Consultant) to join the Business Funding Consultancy team. The head office is based in Manchester; however, the Business Funding Consultants are located throughout the UK. Reporting to our Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving the commercial success of the Sales function. This includes representing the company at online and in-person networking events and generating business opportunities by visiting clients and referral partners on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and expanding our prospect database, prospecting new clients via LinkedIn and other online networking, cold-calling, etc.
- Attracting new clients from a variety of sectors and referral partners to choose our client as their partner of choice.
- Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of all our products, services, and solutions.
- Maintaining a wide network of clients and referral partners, managing these relationships with professionalism and passion.
- Recognising and responding to changing client needs, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Managing inbound queries from new and existing clients in a timely manner.
- Delivering on KPIs as set by the business.
- Working cohesively with other departments to ensure clients receive the best possible service.
Skills and Experience Required
- Sales experience within tax consultancy or financial services.
- Knowledge of the R&D Tax Incentive is preferred; alternatively, knowledge of financial services such as invoice finance, asset finance, or selling bid-writing services for innovation grants.
- Proven track record in B2B sales.
- Ability to prospect clients via LinkedIn and other online networking platforms, as well as cold-calling.
- Ability to proactively network face-to-face.
- Demonstrable success in delivering against targets.
- Extensive network within the SME world.
- Experience managing lengthy end-to-end sales cycles.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with strong organisational skills.
- Interest in other sectors outside of financial services.
