Responsibilities
The role of a Business Development Manager entails the responsibility of achieving ambitious client acquisition and revenue growth targets. This involves generating leads independently, engaging with new contacts, and maximizing referral and future opportunities with a strong emphasis on customer service. The ultimate goal is to foster long-term relationships that contribute to the acquisition of new clients and engagements while receiving support from the business.
Role Duties
- Attend meetings set by the internal sales development team.
- Book and attend self-generated meetings.
- Close new business sales opportunities.
- Create a referral network (accountants and business introducers).
- Develop and maintain relationships with your clients.
- Acquire technical knowledge of products sufficient to exceed your goals.
- Produce timely and successful resolution of client escalations when appropriate.
- Represent the business at conferences, trade fairs and networking events.
- Source and arrange seminars with associates/corporate partners.
- Be responsible for delivering the appropriate documents from the client for the pre-qualification process and signing the client up.
- Use sales techniques to identify needs and close any opportunities presented.
BDM Profile
- Someone who has a minimum of 2 years B2B experience.
- Able to demonstrate client relationship management, development, and retention skills.
- Someone who is open to learning and understands Research and Development services and positions them against our competition.
- Someone with a proven record in exceeding revenue and retention targets.
- The person must be able to use in-house systems to generate positive outcomes.
- Good general IT skills.
Role Objectives
- To generate a minimum of £20,000 monthly revenue.
- Achieve a minimum of four sales per month.
- Deliver a minimum of eight self-generated meetings per month.
- Maximise referral with existing client base.
- Make a set number of calls per month as agreed with manager.
- Maximise internal sales opportunities.
