They work with companies across various industries, providing strategic advice, financial analysis, and technical expertise to help them identify and claim eligible research and development tax incentives. In addition to R&D Tax advice, our client also advises across grant funding, patent box and capital allowances, allowing anybody joining the role to expand their areas of expertise.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Head of R&D Tax Credits. In this role, you will lead our R&D tax credits team and be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of identifying, qualifying, and maximizing R&D tax incentives for our clients. You will collaborate closely with our clients, technical experts, and finance professionals to ensure accurate and timely claims that comply with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the R&D tax credits team, overseeing a team of professionals and driving high performance.
- Lead HMRC enquiry responses.
- Review reports prior to submission to ensure high quality.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant tax legislation and regulations, keeping abreast of any changes that may impact the R&D tax credits landscape.
- Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to educate internal teams and clients on R&D tax credits.
- Collaborate with the business development team to support client acquisition and expansion efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, or a related field.
- A master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred.
- Extensive experience in R&D tax credits, tax consulting, or related fields, with a proven track record of successfully managing and maximizing R&D tax credits.
- Strong knowledge of tax legislation and regulations related to R&D tax credits, including familiarity with relevant government programs and incentives.
- Exceptional analytical and financial skills, with the ability to interpret technical and financial data to identify eligible R&D activities and expenditures.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
