Our client is a leading consultancy firm specialising in assisting businesses maximise their R&D tax credit claims.

They work with companies across various industries, providing strategic advice, financial analysis, and technical expertise to help them identify and claim eligible research and development tax incentives.

In addition to R&D Tax advice, our clientalso advises across grant funding, patent box and capital allowances, allowing anybody joining the role to expand their areas of expertise.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Head of R&D Tax Credits.

In this role, you will lead our R&D tax credits team and be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of identifying, qualifying, and maximizing R&D tax incentives for our clients.

You will collaborate closely with our clients, technical experts, and finance professionals to ensure accurate and timely claims that comply with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the R&D tax credits team, overseeing a team of professionals and driving high performance.
  • Lead HMRC enquiry responses.
  • Review reports prior to submission to ensure high quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant tax legislation and regulations, keeping abreast of any changes that may impact the R&D tax credits landscape.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to educate internal teams and clients on R&D tax credits.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to support client acquisition and expansion efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant professional certification (e. g., CPA) is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in R&D tax credits, tax consulting, or related fields, with a proven track record of successfully managing and maximizing R&D tax credits.\
  • Strong knowledge of tax legislation and regulations related to R&D tax credits, including familiarity with relevant government programs and incentives.
  • Exceptional analytical and financial skills, with the ability to interpret technical and financial data to identify eligible R&D activities and expenditures.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and growth.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
