The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
FINTEC recruit is seeking an experienced Welding Engineer for our engineering oil and gas client based in Highland region, north of Inverness.
This is a permanent role, salary negotiable by experience plus benefits. There will be some travel overseas with this role for projects, enhanced rates are paid when on project assignments overseas.
Responsibilities:
- Control of all documentation associated with weld procedure specifications, qualifications, records and welder qualifications.
- Review welding specifications at bid stages and perform welding inspection duties on an ad hoc basis.
- Review and endorse welding consumable Test Certification and review Weld Procedure qualification documentation – welding manuals.
- Ensuring company management procedures are carried out.
- Continual reviews of welding techniques/procedures and the introduction of improvements to operations.
- Management of project welding procedure qualification activities and maintain weld procedure registers.
- Monitor production welding activities and troubleshoot any potential issues.
- Evaluate causes of welding failures and implement corrective actions.
- Attend regular operations and safety meetings as required.
- Ensure that the appropriate Risk Assessments are carried out for the preparation of specific Welding Processes/Method Statements for welding operations.
Skills and Experience required for the Welding Engineer vacancy:
- HNC in Fabrication, Welding and Inspection or equivalent as a minimum.
- Knowledge of Automatic and/or Manual welding of pipeline, welding engineering or metallurgical experience/background.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in welding engineering in a fabrication environment.
- Working knowledge of various NDE techniques.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in welding engineering.
