About the Opportunity
Granite State Manufacturing (GSM) is seeking motivated Class C CNC Milling Machinists to join our precision manufacturing team on first shift.
This position is ideal for entry-level or early-career machinists who are eager to learn CNC operations and build a long-term career in advanced manufacturing supporting the U.S. Navy submarine program and other critical defense projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with machine setups, material loading, and part inspection.
- Operate CNC milling machines and horizontals under direct supervision.
- Follow setup sheets, routers, and process plans accurately.
- Use basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers) to check part features.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area consistent with 5S standards.
- Support production flow and meet work priorities IAW production schedule.
- Participate in on-the-job training to learn advanced machining, GD&T, and inspection practices.
- Follow all safety policies and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of CNC or manufacturing experience (training provided).
- Basic understanding of machining tools and measurement instruments.
- Eagerness to learn setups, program operation, and precision measurement.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to follow instruction.
- Desire to grow into a Class B or Class A machinist role.
