Our Aberdeen office delivers into a market that values speed, reliability, and technical understanding — making this an ideal environment for an experienced trades recruiter who wants to operate in a fast‑moving environment.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Trades Recruitment Consultant to join our Aberdeen office and take ownership of a defined market within the Oil & Gas sector. You’ll be working in a space that offers consistent demand, repeat business, and strong growth opportunities — but still rewards entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to build relationships quickly. As part of a well‑established Energy business, you’ll benefit from sector credibility, existing frameworks, and brand presence, while still having room to grow your own client base and develop new accounts.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Thrives in a delivery‑focused environment with commercial upside
  • Enjoys developing strong relationships with both clients and contractors

Key Responsibilities

Market Engagement & Client Relationships

  • Build relationships with Oil & Gas contractors, and engineering firms across Aberdeen and the wider region.
  • Maintain regular contact with hiring managers, operations teams, and workforce planners.
  • Identify upcoming projects, shutdowns, and manpower requirements.
  • Provide market insight and act as a trusted partner for urgent and ongoing trades requirements.

Candidate Network Development

  • Grow and maintain networks of skilled trades, blue‑collar, and onshore/offshore personnel.
  • Conduct consultative conversations with highly experienced candidates.
  • Manage availability, mobilisation, compliance, and placement readiness.
  • Ensure a high-quality contractor experience from first contact to assignment.

360 Recruitment Delivery

  • Manage the full trades recruitment lifecycle with pace and accuracy.
  • Produce effective adverts and outreach to maintain an active candidate pipeline.
  • Coordinate interviews, compliance checks, and deployment.
  • Build repeat business through excellent service and clear communication.

Commercial & Team Contribution

  • Proactively generate new business and expand existing accounts.
  • Contribute to a driven, collaborative, and entrepreneurial Aberdeen culture.
  • Share insights and support continuous improvement across the team.
  • Take part in structured training and ongoing development.

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience in Trades / Blue‑Collar / Oil & Gas recruitment.
  • Strong understanding of O&G contractor markets and workforce cycles.
  • Confidence in business development and relationship-building.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to engage credibly with both clients and experienced trades personnel.
  • Highly organised, resilient, and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience placing offshore personnel.
