We’re currently supporting a leading engineering services business in the search for an experienced Lead Estimator to join their team in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in EPC, fabrication and construction estimating within the Energy sectors, who can take ownership of estimates from initial enquiry through to tender submission and project handover.

Key Duties:

  • Lead detailed estimates across EPC, fabrication, construction and maintenance projects
  • Review RFQs, tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs and project scopes
  • Develop MTOs, labour-hour estimates, material costs and fabrication costs
  • Price fabrication activities including cutting, forming, welding, fit-up, machining, assembly, blasting and painting
  • Review and assess supplier/subcontractor quotations
  • Identify scope gaps, risks, assumptions, exclusions and commercial opportunities
  • Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Projects and Commercial teams
  • Prepare tender summaries, pricing schedules and commercial submissions
  • Maintain estimating databases, productivity rates and historical cost data
  • Provide technical guidance and review estimates prepared by junior team members
  • Support the transition from estimating through to project execution

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Lead/Senior Estimator position
  • Strong EPC and fabrication estimating experience
  • Good understanding of fabrication processes and associated costs
  • Experience with MTOs, BOQs, labour-hour calculations and material pricing
  • Experience reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Background within oil & gas, offshore, energy, marine or heavy engineering
