We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer or Project Manager to join our growing energy services team. You will take ownership of technically varied projects across our infrastructure, hydropower, and grid portfolios. This is a hands‑on delivery role well suited to someone with a civil or mechanical engineering background who is building their project management experience and wants exposure to the full project lifecycle in the energy sector.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day‑to‑day delivery of assigned projects, tracking programme, budget, risk, and quality from inception to close‑out.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects, managing expectations and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Prepare and review technical scopes, contract documents, specifications, and programme schedules.
- Define personnel requirements for each project, identifying the roles, competencies, and certifications needed, and working with resource managers or supply chain to secure the right people at the right time.
- Specify plant, equipment, and materials required for site operations — including lifting equipment, temporary works, specialist tools, and consumables — ensuring selections are appropriate for the technical and site‑specific demands of each project.
- Produce or contribute to mobilisation plans that bring together personnel, equipment, and logistics in a coordinated and cost‑effective way, flagging lead times and procurement dependencies early.
- Develop, review, and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for site activities, ensuring all safe systems of work are in place and understood by operatives prior to mobilisation.
- Fulfil duties under CDM Regulations as appropriate to role, including coordinating with Principal Designers, Principal Contractors, and clients on health and safety obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and challenge contractor‑submitted RAMS, ensuring adequacy of controls for site‑specific hazards including working at height, confined spaces, isolation of plant, and environmental risks common to energy infrastructure projects.
- Monitor site progress, attend project meetings, and produce clear progress reports and status updates for internal and client stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project risks, raising issues early and proposing practical mitigation measures.
- Support commercial management including change control, variation tracking, and invoicing milestones.
- Ensure all works are delivered in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Contribute to business development activity, including supporting bid preparation and client presentations.
