Granite Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a multi-disciplinary services company that delivers a comprehensive range of engineering, construction, and maintenance solutions across all phases of energy asset life cycles. Renowned for their expertise in the onshore and offshore sectors, they are now expanding their footprint to provide high-quality services to the power networks industry, ensuring infrastructure reliability and performance.
As a result of the above, we are now seeking a highly experienced Electrical Services Director to establish, lead, and grow the business line. This is a senior leadership role with full P&L responsibility, requiring a rare combination of deep technical expertise across the full voltage spectrum – from low-voltage systems through to high-voltage infrastructure – and the commercial acumen to build a profitable, high-performance business unit from the ground up.
Business Line Leadership & Strategy- Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan for the electrical services division, including market positioning, service offerings, revenue targets, and growth milestones.
- Define short- and long-term strategic goals, presenting progress and performance to senior leadership on a regular basis.
- Build and manage the full P&L for the business line, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities across energy-related market sectors.
- Provide authoritative technical direction across the full spectrum of electrical engineering services, including low-voltage (LV), medium-voltage (MV), and high-voltage (HV) systems.
- Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and infrastructure projects.
- Establish and enforce technical standards, engineering quality frameworks, and best-practice methodologies across the business line.
- Act as technical authority and escalation point for complex or high-risk projects.
- Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the electrical services industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated expertise across low-voltage (LV) systems and high-voltage (HV/MV) networks, including design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Extensive business development and client management experience, with a strong professional network in the electrical sector.
- Thorough knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management, and safe systems of work in an electrical context.
- Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities, with experience building teams from the ground up.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated, commercially driven, and able to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
- Experience with SPEN, SSE or NG projects would be desirable.
- Willing to travel.
