Role Purpose
The Technical Services Specialist is the company's primary technical resource for supporting well integrity and leak sealing operations. While the role is the first choice for deployment to client sites when required, including mobilising at short notice or with minimal notice, it is predominantly office based and focused on engineering support activities such as procedure writing, job planning, and technical preparation. The role also includes occasional workshop duties and close collaboration with internal teams and clients to ensure safe, high quality and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver services safely and professionally on client assets and premises
- Diagnose issues on client wellheads, trees and downhole and support development of practical solutions
- Deploy products and tooling in line with procedures and job programmes
- Mobilise for onshore and offshore work in the UK and internationally, including at short notice or with minimal notice
- Maintain equipment on site and ensure a professional standard at all times
- Complete daily operational reporting and support permit and toolbox talk requirements
- Provide on-site support and, where required, training to third-party personnel
Technical / Office Support
- Assist with preparation of job procedures using client data and internal knowledge
- Read and interpret technical drawings (wellheads, valves, downhole, internal seal structures)
- Support preparation of technical documentation and presentations
- Contribute feedback from operations to support continuous improvement
Health, Safety & Behaviour
- Work in full compliance with client safety, environmental and quality standards
- Promote safe working practices and a positive safety culture at all times
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience with wellheads, valves and sealing systems
- Previous offshore experience and valid offshore certification
- Hands-on technical or engineering background (oil & gas or related industry)
- Willingness and ability to mobilise to client sites onshore and offshore, including travel and at short notice or with minimal notice
- Strong safety awareness and disciplined approach to procedures
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a small team
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation
