A great opportunity for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer to join an organisation who will be transitioning towards a DevOps environment, and pick up relevant skills along the way. The role will be joining a leading software house in central Bath, building and maintaining infrastructure for their SaaS products. They are in the process of investing heavily in their technical environment and are looking for an engineer who can help with new tech implementations.
Core responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining hosting infrastructure (ensuring availability of web, database and messaging systems)
- Managing servers (across development, test and production)
- Monitoring and responding to infrastructure events (such as availability and capacity management)
- Being proactive with infrastructure upgrades

The technical environment looks like this:
- AWS cloud infrastructure (AWS experience would be ideal but Azure/GCP also considered)
- Majority Windows/some Linux servers
- NginX, IIS, virtualisation, web services
- Active Directory/DNS/DHCP etc.
- MSSQL Server
- PowerShell
They will be moving towards working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and containerisation (Docker); they would either be looking for some previous experience or a desire to learn.
