We are seeking a skilled Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical systems and demonstrate the ability to diagnose and repair various types of vehicles. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. The role will initially be based at our Honley site in Holmfirth, Huddersfield.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to identify issues.
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards.
- Perform routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time taken.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in the workshop or on-site.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Skills
- Proficiency in mechanical repair techniques and tools.
- Qualified MOT tester with a valid DVSA certification.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and software is advantageous.
- A valid driving licence is essential.
- Previous experience as a mechanic in a Bodyshop or service centre.
