*Job Summary*
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic/MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical systems and demonstrate the ability to diagnose and repair various types of vehicles. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
The role will initally be based at our Honley site in Holmfirth, Huddersfield.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to identify issues.
* Conduct MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards.
* Perform routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.
* Diagnose mechanical problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
* Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time taken.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
* Adhere to safety protocols while working in the workshop or on-site.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
*Skills*
* Proficiency in mechanical repair techniques and tools.
* Qualified MOT tester with a valid DVSA certification.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork.
* Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and software is advantageous.
* A valid driving licence is essential.
* Previous experience as a mechanic in a Bodyshop or service centre.
