Job Overview
A long established electrical company on Wirral requires a suitable person to install domestic appliances. A full driving licence would obviously be required for this position with the applicant permitted to keep the vehicle at home when not in work.
The vacancy requires you to take the lead in a 2 person crew delivering and installing domestic appliances primarily throughout the Wirral, but also to include Chester and Liverpool city centre, and most Liverpool outer postcodes.
We require a friendly, reliable and motivated person who can work using their own initiative and be organised in preparing and working through their daily workload.
The applicant would ideally be reasonably physical fit and able to lift heavy and bulky items, albeit with assistance.
The working hours are Monday – Wednesday 9am to 5.30pm, and Thursday and Friday 9am to 5pm. There is some negotiation for these hours to be shifted slightly, ie 8.30am to 5pm etc
Responsibilities
The work involves the installation of appliances sold through the business and involves freestanding appliances, which are generally straight forward in fitting, and built-in appliances which require a little more work.
Skills
A general overall knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing is required and an aptitude for some DIY work would be required for minor cabinet/kickboard and decor door alterations, where required.

How to prepare for a job interview at Grange Electrical
✨Know Your Stuff
Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of domestic appliances, basic electrical and plumbing skills. Familiarise yourself with common installation processes for both freestanding and built-in appliances. This will show the interviewer that you're not just a friendly face but also someone who knows what they're doing.
✨Show Off Your Initiative
During the interview, highlight examples from your past where you've taken the lead or worked independently. Since this role requires someone who can organise their daily workload, sharing specific instances where you've successfully managed tasks on your own will really impress them.
✨Be Ready to Lift
Since the job involves handling heavy and bulky items, it’s a good idea to mention your physical fitness and any relevant experience. If you’ve done similar work before, talk about how you managed the physical demands. This will reassure them that you’re up for the challenge.
✨Flexibility is Key
The working hours are somewhat negotiable, so be prepared to discuss your availability. If you have preferences for start times or days off, think about how you can present these in a way that shows you're adaptable while still meeting the company's needs.
