Kiddi Caru Hitchin offers a salary of £10.85- £14.62 (depending on experience and qualifications, with regular pay reviews). We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Assistant to join our team. You will play a key role in caring for, supporting and inspiring our children, encouraging curiosity and helping them thrive every day.

About Our Nursery
Our well-resourced playrooms provide a safe, creative space where children can explore, learn, and follow their interests. Children move between rooms based on readiness, with Bumblebees for babies, Ladybirds for younger toddlers, Caterpillars for older toddlers, and Butterflies for preschoolers. Our garden is divided into two areas—one for babies and toddlers, the other for older children—and features a mud kitchen, climbing equipment, and a forest area, offering a stimulating outdoor environment for all ages.
Location and Travel
Kiddi Caru Day Nursery in Hitchin is conveniently situated near Park Gate shops and offers easy access to a local park, just before Swanwick train station. Nestled on Grove Road near the River Purwell, our nursery is easily accessible for all.
What Will You Be Doing
- Provide a positive practice role model to ensure that Grandir UK values are maintained
- Ensure that equality of access and opportunity is afforded to all staff, parents and children
- Supervise and support children at all times
- Contribute to maintaining an attractive and welcoming environment
- Prepare and supervise activities under the guidance of Level 3 qualified Practitioners
- Read, understand and implement all company policies, procedures and operational practices
- Ensure that any changes to policies, procedures and operational practices are adhered to within the required timescale
- Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation stage
- Notify your line manager of any concerns or issues regarding company policies, procedures and operational practices
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, visitors and work colleagues
- Ensure confidentiality, where appropriate, is maintained
- Attend regular staff meetings, planning meetings and undertake training as required
