Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger professional who enjoys leading a team, improving processes and keeping everything running smoothly?
We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Manager to join our friendly Finance team at Grandir UK. You will take ownership of purchase ledger activities across our group, lead a team of Finance Assistants and support our nurseries with accurate and efficient financial processes.

What you’ll be doing
- Managing all purchase ledger activities and ensuring monthly deadlines are met
- Leading, supporting and developing a team of three Finance Assistants
- Taking ownership of aged creditors and ensuring key supplier statements are reconciled and reviewed monthly
- Reviewing and improving purchase ledger processes and financial controls
- Reviewing and challenging BACS payment runs before uploading them for authorisation
- Managing WAP, Sicon and Pleo processes
- Reviewing rent, rates and service charge invoices against contracts and indexation
- Overseeing purchase ledger inboxes and ensuring invoices and queries are processed promptly
- Managing monthly bank reconciliations and investigating timing differences
- Reviewing supplier contracts and ensuring agreed terms are followed
- Supporting the Group Accountant with banking activities, including opening and closing accounts, direct debits, standing orders and banking security
- Supporting the Management Accountants with cash-flow forecasting
- Taking ownership of purchase ledger and banking integration for newly acquired nurseries
- Supporting month-end, year-end and other finance tasks as required
What we’re looking for
- At least three years’ experience managing a purchase ledger function and team
- Experience working within a high-volume invoice-processing environment
- Experience using automated approval workflows
- Confidence leading a team and managing changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using Sage 200 or a comparable finance system
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- A proactive approach to reviewing and improving processes
- An ambitious individual who is keen to continue developing their finance career
Experience using WAP, Sicon, Famly or Pleo would be helpful but is not essential.
