Our Melton Mowbray Day Nursery is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. In this role, you support the chef in preparing nutritious, delicious meals and help maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.

About Our Nursery:
Set in a renovated coach house, our nursery features bright, spacious rooms with a warm and welcoming feel. Our caring team is dedicated to supporting both children and parents every step of the way.

We are Ofsted registered and rated ‘Good’, providing high-quality care in well-resourced playrooms designed to support children’s development.
Outdoor & Activities:
Our large outdoor space offers a range of activities, including growing projects, Forest School sessions, and individual playroom gardens to build confidence and encourage learning.
Food:
Meals are freshly prepared onsite by our nursery chef, ensuring children enjoy healthy, balanced nutrition each day.
What will you be doing:
- Ensuring all production, service and presentation of food is up to standard
- Carrying out all catering activities in line with the budget
- Ensuring any comments regarding the catering operation are noted and acted upon immediately
- Purchasing supplies through the agreed suppliers
- Ensuring all aspects of the Health & Safety at Work Act are complied with
- Covering all duties in times of Cook’s absence
- Assisting within the nursery rooms, as advised by either the Nursery Manager or the Cook
