This developmental Information Technology role provides a unique pathway for a Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Band Member or descendant to build the technical, operational, and leadership capabilities necessary to grow toward a senior IT leadership role within Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley.
As the Band Member Development – IT Systems Specialist, you will gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise systems, end-user operations, infrastructure reliability, and IT service delivery. You will contribute meaningful technical work from day one while receiving mentorship, structured development, and progressive responsibility designed to prepare you for future roles such as IT Manager, Infrastructure Manager, or Director of Information Technology.
This position strengthens both technical excellence and leadership readiness in support of long-term organizational sustainability.
What You’ll Do- Enterprise Systems + User Support
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, network, and enterprise applications.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and supported systems.
- Assist with user account administration including access provisioning, password resets, and system permissions.
- Support desk phone and mobile device deployment and troubleshooting.
- Participate in remote troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Service Operations + Incident Management
- Log, categorize, and track incidents using the IT ticketing system, ensuring SLA adherence.
- Diagnose and resolve system issues while documenting root cause and solutions for knowledge-sharing.
- Escalate complex technical issues appropriately while maintaining ownership of follow-through.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and routine inspection of supported equipment across properties.
- Systems Reliability + Compliance
- Support system security standards, risk mitigation practices, and IT compliance requirements.
- Participate in business continuity and critical systems support, including on-call rotation.
- Act as liaison with third-party vendors for supported hardware and software solutions.
- Growth + Development Exposure
- Partner with IT Engineers and Project Management teams on assigned projects.
- Gain exposure to infrastructure planning, systems lifecycle management, and enterprise application strategy.
- Learn enterprise application workflows, system integrations, and operational dependencies.
- Gain exposure to IT asset management and user account lifecycle processes, including cross-training to provide backup support for these operational functions when needed.

- Required: Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Band Member, Descendant or Other American Indian.
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred; if not currently held, candidate must be willing to actively pursue relevant education or certification as part of the development plan.
- 1–3 years of experience supporting desktop operating systems, enterprise applications, or networking environments preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of system security, hardware troubleshooting, and enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Must obtain and maintain a Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA) license and follow all Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGRs).
Supports IT operations across Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Hinckley properties. Participate in a scheduled, team-based on-call rotation supporting critical business systems as needed.
