We are hiring an Events Supervisor at Grand Sapphire Hotel & Banqueting. The Events Supervisor will support the smooth running of events from setup to guest departure, making sure every detail is delivered with care, organisation, and high standards.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Supervise the full event operation on the floor, including setup, guest arrival, service flow, and event close down.
- Support the Events Manager in delivering weddings, receptions, corporate events, gala dinners, birthday celebrations, charity events, conferences, and private functions.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team, front of house team, decorators, suppliers, security, housekeeping, and hotel staff to ensure smooth event delivery.
- Check room setup, table layout, stage areas, entrance points, guest flow, signage, cleanliness, and overall venue presentation before the event begins.
- Lead and brief event staff before each function, making sure duties, timings, service standards, and client requirements are clearly understood.
- Monitor food service, drinks service, guest experience, and event timings throughout the function.
- Act as a key point of contact on the floor for clients, guests, suppliers, and internal teams during the event.
- Handle guest requests, client instructions, and operational issues in a calm and professional manner.
- Ensure the venue is presented to a luxury standard at all times, including suites, foyer areas, toilets, corridors, and public areas.
- Support with wedding day coordination, including guest arrival, couple entrance, stage timings, food service, speeches, entertainment, and supplier movements.
- Make sure all health, safety, hygiene, and venue procedures are followed during every event.
- Assist with event handovers, final checks, supplier coordination, stock checks, and post event reporting.
- Help protect the reputation of Grand Sapphire by delivering excellent service, strong attention to detail, and a memorable guest experience.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in the hospitality, events, weddings, banqueting, or hotel industry.
- Proven experience in successfully delivering functions such as weddings, corporate events, awards nights, gala dinners, private parties, cultural celebrations, and large banqueting events.
- Strong understanding of event operations, floor management, guest service, food service, and venue setup.
- Ability to manage staff on the floor and keep the team organised during busy events.
- Confident in dealing with clients, guests, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and event days.
