Grand Circle Travel and Overseas Adventure Travel is in business to change the lives of our travelers, employees and communities in which we work and travel. We’re the largest U.S. direct marketer of international travel, adventure and discovery for North Americans aged 50-plus and have served 1 million travelers since 1958. We seek candidates for the following position:

Trip Leader Training Manager for a quality driven company with fluent English and based in Glasgow

Job Description

  • Hiring and training Trip Leaders to deliver in-depth tours of Great Britain
  • Coaching trip leaders in tour quality and exceeding traveller expectations
  • Carrying out Trip Leader performance management to ensure they meet the company's guidelines to achieve excellence goals
  • Creating and scheduling a strong high performing Trip Leaders team that exemplify the company's culture and values and team spirit
  • Managing relationships with Trip Leaders and vendors
  • Evaluating and acting on quality issues from traveller and Trip Leader feedback
  • Supporting trip delivery and development
  • Reporting out to head office on KPIs
  • Ability to work on the road and where necessary travel with Trip Leaders and groups in a training/coaching role
  • Effectively interacting with travelers on site to support Trip Leaders and obtain live feedback from travelers
  • Ability to drive performance in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure
  • 24/7 Emergency support and driving resolutions of operations/customer issues (approx. one week in six)
  • Typical office hours are 9am-5pm however during the demands of the operational season (Apr-Oct) time out with these hours may be required

  • Strong knowledge of UK
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong training/coaching skills
  • Performance Management experience
  • Proven and effective travel industry and staff management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication and problem solving skills
  • Fluency in written & spoken English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word / Excel
