The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a successful and established event portfolio. The role will focus on generating new business revenue, developing existing client relationships, and driving commercial growth across a portfolio of market-leading B2B events.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities through proactive sales activity
  • Re-engaging previous clients and converting them into active customers
  • Building and managing a pipeline of prospective exhibitors and sponsors
  • Developing and nurturing long-term client relationships
  • Managing existing accounts and maximising revenue opportunities
  • Working towards and exceeding individual sales targets and KPIs
  • Producing accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports
  • Collaborating with marketing, operations, and content teams to support event growth
  • Attending industry events and client meetings where required

About You

We are looking for a motivated, energetic sales professional who thrives in a target-driven environment and enjoys building lasting client relationships. Ideally, you will have experience within B2B sales, events, media, sponsorship, exhibitions, or a related commercial environment.

  • Proven track record in B2B sales and business development
  • Strong commercial awareness and consultative selling skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Experience managing accounts and developing long-term client partnerships
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and overcome objections
  • Highly organised with strong pipeline management skills
  • Comfortable working towards ambitious revenue targets
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
  • Ability to build rapport with senior stakeholders both over the phone and face-to-face
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, solutions-focused mindset
