Role Overview: The Council’s Financial Management Unit is seeking to recruit a trainee accountant.

Responsibilities: You will undertake a course of study for a professional accountancy qualification through CIPFA supported by the council, although a substantial amount of input and studying in your own time will be required. In addition, you will receive full training in the operation of local government finance covering revenue and capital accounting, budgeting and monitoring, and gain full experience of financial systems. At the same time, you will have a substantive workload and be responsible for meeting deadlines within quality standards.

Career Progression: Once you have completed the traineeship you will have the opportunity to apply for qualified Accountant posts within the council.
