Role Overview

Join the Housing Property Services team as a Housing Stock Maintenance Technician.

You will work under the Service Delivery Co‑ordinator, ensuring all council housing assets—multi‑storey towers, retirement complexes and dispersed temporary accommodation—are maintained to a high standard.

The role requires travel across North Lanarkshire to supervise contractors, review contract compliance and produce performance reports.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve council housing stock, including multi‑storey towers, retirement housing complexes and temporary accommodation.
  • Ensure contractor and partner compliance with contract conditions.
  • Prepare contract specifications and performance reports.
  • Travel throughout the North Lanarkshire area to carry out site inspections and supervise works.
  • Use computerised systems for work generation, inspection and reporting.

Qualifications

  • SVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or an apprenticeship equivalent to HNC/SVQ Level 3.
  • Background in building trades or moderate experience in the building repairs industry.
  • Experience with computerised work generation and inspection systems.
  • Good communication skills and a valid driving licence.
  • Access to a car is desirable due to the geographical spread of work.
  • Working Hours
  • 35 hours per week.
  • Monday to Thursday: 08:45 – 16:45 (55‑minute unpaid break).
  • Friday: 08:45 – 16:15 (50‑minute unpaid break).
  • Salary

£31,541 – £34,307 (NLC7) or £36,145 – £42,115 (NLC9) per year.
