An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering team on a permanent basis. NRS brings together a diverse range of Glasgow City Council operational, technical and development services that focus on sustainable transport, place making and delivering essential city services. Position Details

Helping to deliver the Council's capital programme, the postholder will have responsibility for helping the delivery of structural engineering related outputs to quality, time and cost across a portfolio of projects. You will support the structural engineering design lead, and you will liaise with architects, other engineering disciplines, and clients whilst carrying out design duties and participating in design meetings. You will take an active role onsite during critical stages of construction to monitor quality and to provide technical support to contractors. You will carry out structural design works including calculations, detailing and drafting. Additional duties may include structural investigations, site surveys and feasibility assessments.

A degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, or an HNC along with 2 years of relevant work experience is an essential requirement of this role. Due to the nature of the role it is also important that you have good communication and interpersonal skills to allow you to work effectively within project teams and liaise with clients.

Contract Details

  • Weekly Hours: 35 per week
  • Work Pattern: Monday to Friday
  • Annual Salary: £32,024.87 - £36,151.72 on an incremental scale
  • Hybrid working is available in this role.
