Job Summary

Salary will be pro‑rated for part‑time hours.

This position is temporary and is not a term‑time post.

The Early Years Housekeeper role supports early years staff in serving lunches to children while maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleaning.

The role involves working within an early years centre, interacting with children to encourage them to try new foods, ensuring safe hygiene practices, and contributing as a valued member of the nursery staff and community.

Responsibilities

Qualifications & Skills

  • Enthusiastic, articulate, and enthusiastic about working with children.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • Some knowledge of child development, safe food preparation and hygiene practices is an advantage; training will be provided.

The position requires membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme.

As a regulated role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, candidates must join or update the PVG Scheme before employment confirmation.
