Responsibilities
- Deliver a quality catering service to all customers within allocated sites.
- Ensure compliance with the Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act 2020, Setting the Table guidance, Healthy Working Lives, and Better Eating Better Learning, while contributing to service objectives.
- Adhere to council policies and ensure the service complies with health and safety legislation, internal audit, environmental health legislation, and procurement and HR guidance.
- Oversee all activities related to the catering service and civic events, including food preparation and cooking, menu planning, portion control, and customer liaison.
- Manage employees and staff training, control hygiene and health and safety standards.
- Handle financial management, ordering supplies, and budgetary control.
Qualifications
- Catering management experience.
- Relevant cooking skills.
- Understanding of the needs of the clientele catered to.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage a team.
- City & Guilds Catering qualification or a similar certification (advantage).
