Overview
As a Business Development Executive - Construction for the UK, you will be a key driver of new business growth, responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing high-value customers. You will own the full sales cycle - from prospecting to deal closure - using a structured sales methodology and ensuring seamless handover to the account management team. We are looking for a proven B2B sales hunter who thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. You must excel at developing and executing sales strategies, navigating complex sales cycles, and consistently winning new business.
- New Business Acquisition & Sales Execution
- Proactively identify, engage, and convert new customers through outbound prospecting, networking, and digital sales tools.
- Own the full sales cycle- from lead generation and qualification to negotiation and closing.
- Apply a structured, strategic sales approach to drive high-quality customer engagements.
- Conduct in-depth research on target industries and decision-makers to tailor outreach and maximise conversion.
- Clearly articulate our value proposition, addressing customer pain points and demonstrating ROI.
- Use CRM tools (e.g., Dynamics) to manage pipeline, track interactions, and ensure accurate forecasting.
- Pipeline Growth & Lead Nurturing
- Develop and execute multi-touch outreach strategies using calls, emails, social selling, and industry events.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring engagement and trust.
- Drive consultative sales conversations to uncover needs and align solutions effectively.
- Conduct high-impact discovery calls, demos, and meetings to advance opportunities.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with engaged prospects to drive progression through the pipeline.
- Collaboration & Market Insights
- Work closely with Territory Account Managers to ensure a seamless handover of new customers.
- Provide feedback to marketing on lead quality, campaign performance, and emerging market trends.
- Contribute to continuous sales process improvement and share best practices.
- Support marketing initiatives such as webinars and industry events by driving attendance and follow-up engagement.
- Performance & Sales Optimisation
- Track outreach activities, prospect interactions, and opportunity progression in CRM.
- Analyse sales metrics to identify optimisation opportunities and improve conversion rates.
- Regularly report on KPIs such as lead volume, pipeline velocity, and revenue contribution.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to identify new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- 3+ years of business-to-business sales experience
- Software knowledge, preferably in Autodesk products (ACC, Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM 360, etc.)
- Technical understanding of the software / SaaS industry
- Sales experience in architecture, engineering or construction is highly preferred.
