Are you a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a role that offers technical variety, long-term stability and a better work-life balance?

Join our Maintenance team and play a key role in supporting the production of world-class cast and precision-machined components. Working across a highly automated manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving a diverse range of equipment, from robotics and automated production systems to CNC machinery and foundry equipment. This is an opportunity to develop your technical expertise while helping to drive reliability, continuous improvement and operational performance across the business. This role offers the chance to move into a business that values stability and work-life balance. With a fixed shift pattern, you'll know exactly when you're working each week, providing greater consistency than many larger operations where shift arrangements regularly change.

Who are we?

At Grainger & Worrall, we specialise in producing complex cast and precision-machined solutions for pioneering technologies across diverse industries, including automotive, aerospace, defence, motorsport, and more, highlighting our versatility and commitment to driving future technology development.

Our commitment to engineering excellence and breakthrough innovation was recently recognised with The King's Award for Enterprise in Innovation, our fourth accolade in this prestigious programme. This honour reflects the significant impact of our work on the future of mobility and sustainable technology.

Driven by a team of talented and experienced engineers and specialists, we push boundaries and innovate to bring cutting-edge ideas to life.

We work with manufacturers of high-performance vehicles, helping them turn ambitious designs and vision into reality. Through the expertise of our team and state-of-the-art facilities, which combine cutting-edge engineering with advanced manufacturing processes, we deliver high-performance components tailored to meet the demanding requirements of our clients’ innovative applications. We're proud to shape the future of engineering.

About the role

Working as part of our multi-skilled Maintenance team, you'll be responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of equipment across both our foundry and machining operations. From reactive fault finding to planned preventative maintenance, you'll support the smooth running of a varied manufacturing environment that includes robotics, conveyors, automation systems and CNC machinery.

Rather than being confined to a single production area or discipline, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of equipment and technologies across the site. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and projects that help improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.

What you'll be doing

  • Carrying out reactive maintenance activities to restore equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance activities in line with site schedules.
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults across a range of production equipment.
  • Supporting the reliability and availability of automation, robotics and manufacturing systems.
  • Updating maintenance records and managing work orders through the CMMS.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement activities that enhance equipment performance.
  • Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimise operational disruption.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a proactive engineer with a strong maintenance background and experience supporting manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced environment.

  • A recognised engineering qualification or significant relevant maintenance experience.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
  • Multi-skilled maintenance capability with electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, automation systems or robotics.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • A commitment to safe working practices and continuous improvement.

What you'll get

We'll provide you with a supportive and engaging environment where you can grow your skills and further your career.

In addition, you'll get the following benefits:

  • 19 days holiday plus bank holidays with the option to purchase more holiday days after your first year.
  • Westfield Health Insurance.
  • Company pension.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • Additional shift bonus (where applicable).
  • Family Ironbridge Pass.

Joining our team means being part of a culture that values positivity, adaptability and teamwork. We strive to innovate and improve, ensuring everyone shares in our success.
