About the role:
We are looking for a Toolmaker / Tool Assembler to join our Tooling Department. You will support the manufacture and maintenance of tooling and patterns used in our casting processes, using a range of manual and powered equipment to ensure tooling is completed to the highest standards. This role offers excellent scope for progression into CAD/CAE design or CNC machining, making it a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in engineering.
What you will be doing:
- Operating manual Bridgeport machines, drillers, and centre lathes
- Supporting woodworking and metalworking tasks in pattern manufacture
- Reading and using measuring equipment including calipers and height gauges
- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace in line with 5S standards
- Assisting with procurement of consumables
- Following health and safety procedures and promoting safe working practices
- Completing general housekeeping and maintenance tasks
Who we are looking for:
- An enthusiastic and keen person with experience in toolmaking or tool assembly
- Practical experience and a keen eye for detail
- A proactive approach to teamwork and problem-solving
- Experience using manual and powered tools for wood and metal work
- Familiarity with band saws, lathes, drilling equipment, and caliper setting
- Understanding of 5S and safe working practices
- Ability to read and interpret measuring equipment
