Location: Bridgnorth

Hours: 37 hours per week. Monday - Thursday (08:00 - 16:30), Friday (08:00 - 13:00)

Salary: £16.40 per hour.

About the role:

We are looking for a Toolmaker / Tool Assembler to join our Tooling Department. You will support the manufacture and maintenance of tooling and patterns used in our casting processes, using a range of manual and powered equipment to ensure tooling is completed to the highest standards. This role offers excellent scope for progression into CAD/CAE design or CNC machining, making it a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in engineering.

What you will be doing:

  • Operating manual Bridgeport machines, drillers, and centre lathes
  • Supporting woodworking and metalworking tasks in pattern manufacture
  • Reading and using measuring equipment including calipers and height gauges
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace in line with 5S standards
  • Assisting with procurement of consumables
  • Following health and safety procedures and promoting safe working practices
  • Completing general housekeeping and maintenance tasks

Who we are looking for:

  • An enthusiastic and keen person with experience in toolmaking or tool assembly
  • Practical experience and a keen eye for detail
  • A proactive approach to teamwork and problem-solving
  • Experience using manual and powered tools for wood and metal work
  • Familiarity with band saws, lathes, drilling equipment, and caliper setting
