We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically minded ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified Financial Accountant, to support our Finance Department. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be key in providing a professional and efficient financial support service to the department, working along an assistant accountant & graduate accountant.

Our ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset—someone who seeks continuous improvement and not only questions the "what" but also the "why". This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate should be comfortable prioritising workload in a fast-paced environment, and should consistently deliver against agreed targets and deadlines.

Proficiency in Excel and Word is essential, along with a professional and courteous approach when dealing with internal and external stakeholders. We value creative problem solvers with good interpersonal skills, who can adapt quickly and think critically. Desirable attributes include experience in the construction industry, familiarity with SharePoint, and knowledge of the IFS Financial Management System.

The Financial Accountant role includes:

  • Completion of monthly management accounts of smaller entities, along with the smaller consolidations.
  • Assistance with GRAHAM Group Consolidated accounts, journals, intercompany, and reporting.
  • Monthly and quarterly assistance with the completion of financial models.
  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Cash management including customer and supplier payment reviews, and assistance with Group Cash reporting.
  • Reviews of monthly bank reconciliations and creditor/debtor control accounts.
  • Monthly reconciliation of group intercompany balances, including liaising with different departments to resolve any queries.
  • Preparation and presentation of quarterly board reports.
  • Preparation of annual financial statements as well as liaison with external auditors.
  • Being a lead during the audit, using your organisational and strategic thinking skills.
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT & Monthly CIS returns.
  • Ensuring appropriate record keeping is in place and processes are followed.
  • Liaising with IT department and external groups in order to implement new process/automations to our IT systems, as well as testing and review of progress.
  • Review and support of work carried out by the Assistant Accountant.
  • Undertake any other duties which may be required by the Group Financial Controller.
