An established social housing provider is looking to recruit a Stock Condition Surveyor to play a key role in delivering its long-term asset management and planned maintenance programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced building surveyor with a background in social housing, planned maintenance or asset management to help shape future investment across a large residential portfolio.

The successful candidate will carry out comprehensive stock condition surveys, assess the lifespan of key building components and maintain accurate asset data to support future investment decisions.
They will oversee planned maintenance projects, prepare specifications, inspect completed works and work closely with contractors to ensure quality, compliance and value for money.
Resident engagement is a key part of the role, requiring a professional approach to understanding customer needs whilst delivering an exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Carry out stock condition surveys and asset inspections.
- Assess the condition and remaining lifecycle of building elements.
- Produce specifications, reports and cost estimates.
- Support planned investment programmes including kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors and roofing.
- Supervise contractors, review variations and carry out post-inspections.
- Maintain and update asset management data.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants and contractors.
- Identify building defects, HHSRS hazards and safeguarding concerns where appropriate.
- Ensure projects comply with current legislation, building regulations and health & safety requirements.
Requirements
Applicants should have previous experience in stock condition surveying, planned maintenance or building surveying within housing, property or construction.
A sound understanding of residential construction, building defects and planned maintenance is essential, together with excellent communication and customer service skills.
A qualification in Building Surveying or a related construction discipline (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent experience) is desirable, along with knowledge of Decent Homes, HHSRS and social housing legislation.
A full UK driving licence is required.
