The M&E Project Manager will oversee Mechanical & Electrical works, refurbishments, new installations and minor projects ranging from values of £25k-1m.
Location: Science and Technology Facility Council, Harwell, Didcot
Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday, 40 Hours
Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (6 months)
The M&E Project Manager shall:
- Undertake the management of all site staff relating to projects under your control.
- Drive planning of project.
- Attend preconstruction site visits with the client, commercial team and supply chain.
- Liaise with clients, design teams, and other stakeholders to develop project scopes, technical solutions, and delivery plans.
- Manage and control all project resources.
- Be responsible for the overall management of the project/s.
- Ensure all Company Procedures are being complied with.
- Ensure all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are followed.
- Be responsible for achieving high standards of quality and workmanship on site.
- Ensure that all aspects of the project are effectively monitored and controlled.
- Deliver project within programme and budget.
- Ensure adherence to site specific project protocol and procedures.
- Manage and monitor subcontractors.
- Communicate effectively with the project management team.
- Attend and chair regular project progress meetings and compile progress reports for presentation to the Client.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including RAMS, cost reports, risk registers, and programme updates.
- Attend and chair regular sub-contractor meetings as required.
- Compile and distribute project meeting minutes.
- Maintain contractual records of all project related matters (Cemar).
- Attend and provide input on regular contract meetings with the Client.
- Introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate.
- Positively promote the company wherever and whenever possible.
- Compile and submit O&M manuals upon project completion.

About You
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrate previous experience in a Project Management role.
- Demonstrate strong communication and management skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge in construction design management (CDM).
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, heating, etc.).
- Experience in the delivery of commercial projects up to a value of £1mil.
- Ability to manage and deliver numerous concurrent projects of varying financial values and scope.
- Knowledge / understanding of NEC 4 contracts (preferable).
- Ability to plan and programme projects using MS Project (displaying slippage and float).
- Excellent IT skills I.E Microsoft Office.
