Location: Lagan College, Belfast
Hours Per Week: 37.5 hours per week. Mon-Fri 8:30am – 16:30pm
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Housekeeper / Cleaning Operative shall:

  • Sweep corridor and public areas after each school break/lunch.
  • Respond to all reactive cleaning incidents. Clean body fluids/solids from time to time using the appropriate cleaning method
  • Communicate with the Caretakers.
  • Ensure corridors and stairwells are cleaned after each break/lunch.
  • Use floor machines daily in corridor areas.
  • Clean and remove stains of soft floor surfaces using the appropriate cleaning method when required
  • Ensure toilets remain clean for use throughout the day.
  • Clean balustrades and glass cabinets.
  • Clean, wash and dust ledges, walls, fixtures, fittings and internal surfaces.
  • Assist in the Deep cleans.
  • Ensure corridor bines are cleaned inside and out.
  • Use and care for any cleaning equipment issued in an appropriate and safe manner
  • Assist Manager with all necessary paperwork including COSHH
  • Stock check of consumables and cleaning materials
  • Any other reasonable duties required by the Facilities Manager to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the contract

This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the job title and the range of duties to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

About You

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrate previous experience in a similar cleaning role
  • Demonstrate and be able to speak conversational English

  • Overtime when required

Desirable Criteria

  • BICS qualified

  • Clean Driving Licence

  • Own car / transport
