A law firm in Hertford is looking for a Head of Technology. This is a standalone Head of IT role, reporting to the Managing Partner that combines hands-on technical support and leadership.
The role includes:
- Cyber security
- IT strategy and budget management
- Managing supplier and outsource partnership relationships and projects
This role will suit someone who has 5+ years' experience working in an IT managerial role in a law firm but is still happy being hands-on. The firm has an IT outsource partner who deals with initial IT queries, but you will work as the technical escalation point for IT issues as well as leading and managing the firm's super user team and ensuring service levels are set and achieved.
You will manage the firm's defined IT strategy and IT budget by liaising with the partnership to understand current and future business needs and ambitions. You will evaluate and recommend new technologies that will enable these needs, helping to modernise and drive IT.
You will manage projects such as a new Practice Management System and AI/co-pilot solutions. Additionally, you will write IT policies and contracts around cyber security, business continuity, and suppliers.
This role is based 3 days a week in the Hertford Office, so you need to live within commutable distance and have strong technical and troubleshooting skills with MS Office/MS 365, Windows, and PC hardware.
